Audrey Niffenegger

Audrey Niffenegger, a professor in the MFA Program in Interdisciplinary Book and Paper Arts at Columbia College, Chicago, visited the UIUC campus as part of the 2008 MillerCom Lecture Series 2008 to discuss her work as both a writer and visual artist. Renowned as both a novelist and a printmaker, she has exhibited work in group exhibitions at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Spertus Museum, and she's received fellowships and awards from the Vogelstein Foundation, the Union League Civic Arts Foundation, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Niffenegger is the author of the bestselling novel The Time Traveller's Wife (2003) as well as two graphic novels, The Three Incestuous Sisters (2005) and The Adventuress (2006). Her latest novel, Her Fearful Symmetry, is forthcoming in September 2009.
