Ander Monson
Ander Monson is the author of two books: a novel, Other Electricities (Sarabande Books, 2005), a finalist for the New York Public Library's Young Lions Award; and a poetry collection, Vacationland (Tupelo Press, 2005). Neck Deep and Other Predicaments, a collection of essays, won the Graywolf Press 2006 Nonfiction Prize and will be published in February 2007. He edits the online magazine DIAGRAM, which can be found at thediagram.com. More information can be found on the well designed and sparkling otherelectricities.com. Monson's essay "Failure: Another Iteration" appeared in microfiche format in 9L's Fall 2004 issue and is available for download on this very website. His reading of the title poem from Vacationland featured in this vodcast was performed at UI's Illini Union Bookstore in September 2006, when Monson visited campus as part of the Carr Reading Series.
